Chicken Pox

Chicken Pox is a childhood illness that can occur even if your child had been vaccinated against the disease.  The incubation period is usually 10-21 days and generally begins with a mild fever followed the day by raised red pimples that become filled with a clear fluid.  The rash may continue to develop for several days. Children who have had chicken pox may return to school when no new pimples are appearing and all old pimples are dry and scabbed over, usually 7-10 days.

Children who have been vaccinated against chickenpox can still get the disease through they often have a milder case.

Do not give your child products containing aspirin while he/she has chicken pox.
