The following guidelines are used as the basis for the Sunrise Cheerleading Program:

1.  Cheerleaders are under the constant supervision and leadership from a faculty advisor who has complete understanding of the school’s policies and goals.

2.  Academics are a cheerleader’s first priority.  Extracurricular activities should support the educational process.

3.  The primary function of a cheerleader is to support interscholastic athletics by encouraging and directing crowd participation.

4.  Cheerleaders must be more than good athletes and performers.  They are campus leaders, role models for their fellow students, and ambassadors for the school and community.

In spite of the amount of time and hard work required, being a member of the Sunrise Middle School Cheerleading Squad holds many rewards.  We hope the members of the 2007-2008 squad find their membership to be a valuable experience.  For further information please contact Tracy Henning.
